Queenstown Ice Hockey Club is home to the Skycity Stampede. 

Playing in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League against 5 other National teams - Canterbury Red Devils, Dunedin Thunder, Botany Swarm, West Auckland Admirals & the Auckland Mako.

Skycity Stampede are the current champions and have also won championships in 2023, 2022, 2019, 2017,2016, 2015, 2006, 2005 and placed runners up three times (2009, 2011, 2012 and 2018).
